Alliaj-HM (Hollow Moulded), the latest model created by Alexis of Aeromod. Its their first hollow moulded glider.
The aim was to bring together the qualities of Alliaj: handling, smoothness in transition, and those of Predator: excellent support when cornering, which can fly “Energy Management”. The qualities of each of these 2 gliders have been met with the challenge of going beyond. In particular, an effort was made to optimize the profiles with components: having a very wide range Cx min, which will behave very tolerant settings and wind conditions (and pilot error …).
The flight parameters (Cz, Cx, Re, …) have been optimized for F3F calculations using the Excel spreadsheet linked to the document “Mechanics of Flight F3F” on the site F3F-France and the analysis made on the flight in Dynamic Soaring.
After 9 months of hard work, Jean-Luc, Alexis and Thomas ) finally celebrate the completion of their project .Over 100% of objectives were achieved:
- The Alliaj HM is perfectly consistent with the project, 3D shapes have been carefully observed;
Thomas has managed to reproduce the same forms and patterns imposed by Jean-Luc.
- The strength and stiffness of aeromod gliders remains; The upper and lower surface skins of the wing are at least 0.5mm thick without core material, they do not mark. The use of high modulus carbon allows ample rigidity to the practice of F3F. The new molding technique Aeromod works perfectly.
-Icing on the cake: the Alliaj HM is 200g lighter than the weight estimate.
