I'm Ryan Bagge, an astronomy PhD student at School of Physics. I was born in Sydney, NSW, but raised in Perth, WA where I completed both my Bachelors and Masters in Physics at the University of Western Australia before moving back to Sydney to start at PhD. My research focus is understanding galaxy formation and evolution by modelling the dynamics of the stars and gas using some of the most powerful optical and radio telescopes.

±Ê°ù´ÇÂá±ð³¦³Ù:ÌýDynamical Evolution of Galaxies over Cosmic Time.

Supervised by:ÌýÌý &

Project description:ÌýGalaxies in the early Universe were much more rotationally supported and turbulent than galaxies seen in the local Universe, but the causes of this 'slowing down' are unclear. Using Integral Field Spectroscopic observations of galaxies at a time in the Universe that is predicted to be significant for this evolution, I'm trying to understand the physical processes involved in causing galaxies to slow down over cosmic time.
