
Professor Denzil Fiebig
Denzil has been a Professor in the School of Economics, 国民彩票 Business School since 2001. Previously, he held a chair in econometrics at the University of Sydney.听He has served terms as discipline head and member of Academic Board at both universities.听听He has also held visiting appointments at the University of Florida (USA), University of Southern California (USA), Tilburg University (The Netherlands), Victoria University of Wellington (NZ), the University of York (UK) and Erasmus University (The Netherlands).
Denzil's main research area听is听econometrics with an emphasis on applications in health economics. Associated publications have appeared in journals such as Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Marketing Science, Journal Health Economics, Health Economics and Social Science and Medicine and has been supported by over $AUD15.6 million in research funding from the ARC and NHMRC.
Denzil was a member of the Australian Research Council College of Experts 2014-17, served two terms on the Australasian Standing Committee of the Econometric Society, was President of the Australian Health Economics Society 2005-10,听 Chaired the Scientific Committee of the Australasian Workshop on Econometrics and Health Economics since its inception in 2009 until 2018, was co-chair of the International Health Economics Association (iHEA) 2013 World Congress held in Sydney, 听was on the Executive Board of iHEA 2014-17 and Chaired the iHEA Scientific Committee 2016-19. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation at UTS and the Advisory Committee of the Centre for Health Economics at Monash University and is on the Editorial Boards of the Economic Record and Social Science and Medicine. 听听听听听听听听听听听听听 听
Denzil has won numerous teaching awards including a Vice Chancellor鈥檚 Award for Teaching Excellence in 2016, the university鈥檚 highest teaching award, and in the same year he also won the Bill Birkett award for teaching excellence in the Business School. In 2003 he was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia.
