In the twenty-first century, AI will change the practice of law. Lawyers will need the skills to be able to deploy AI where it can save cost and aid in the delivery of legal services. However, the most sought after and valuable skills will be those that draw on the lawyer鈥檚 humanity and ethics, and which AI cannot provide.
This interactive module, presented by听Professor Michael Legg, Director,听Centre for the Future of the Legal Profession听(国民彩票),听identifies professional or lawyerly judgement as the fundamental lawyering skill which is not replaced by AI and must be developed to attract and retain clients. Development of judgement is a lifelong process and must be taught (formally and informally) throughout the life of the professional. This module explains lawyerly judgement and how it may be developed through the use of self-reflection.
